From talented director Guy Ritchie, who has churned out films like Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels, Snatch, and Sherlock Holmes, to name a few, Aladdin is the highly anticipated live-action remake of the 1992 Disney film that has held a special place in many of our childhoods. The Jungle Book did well with the live-action treatment and The Lion King is on the horizon as well so I am definitely excited for the latest version of the carpet riding Aladdin. Sir Patrick Stewart campaigned for the role of Jafar. He had previously turned down the role in Aladdin (1992) and has regretted it ever since.
Director Guy Ritchie was primarily interested in doing the film because it was the Disney story he was closest to: "My stories are really about street hustlers. That's what I know how to do. And Aladdin is a classic street hustler who makes good."
